of rust pits. The mouthpiece is a reproduction, and the cord is new.
Interior: Inside, the 5 bar magneto is marked "American Electric",
and phone will ring at the turn of the crank. The switch hook is unmarked and
correct, and it has the shield cut out in the ends. The ringer is old. There
are no batteries in the box.

The hole in the switchook is shaped like a shield-vintage American electric. The edge of the backboard is split at transmitter level and the
backboard is starting to separate at 2 glue joints at the bottom edge (Left

have been replaced with Holtzer-Cabbott magnets. The ringer and switchhook
are both correct for the phone. The receiver is a WE pony which has a 1.5
inch crack in the shell; it is marked on the tip cap, but the ear cap is not

Item 3524 is a Western Tel Mfg Double box made of oak. The overall condition of the wood is good and the finish is fair. It includes a Telephone directory- Iowa State Tel. Co. 1951. It has the rural line ringing code table. There are 2-patched holes each side of the backboard next to the battery box. There is a split on the bottom of the backboard. The right side of the backboard flare has been replaced. The top box is marked with a metal tag. The arrestor is correct and the bells are dirty brass. The receiver is correct and marked on the top of shell. The transmitter is correct and marked. The arm is the cast iron with coil in the base. The mouthpiece is a repro and the cord is new. There is a 5 bar mag that rings and has marked covers. The switch and ringer are correct for the phone. |

Item #451 is an oak Williams doublebox phone. There is one patched hole near the center under the battery box; there is one patched hole at the left gong mount. There is one split four inches long at the bottom center of the backboard. The battery box is a complete reproduction. The topbox is correct and marked with a metal tag; the arrestor is correct, and the bells are worn nickel. The receiver is old and has a 1+ inch longitudinal crank; the receiver is unmarked. The transmitter is marked and correct for the phone; the arm is cast iron with the coil in the base. The mouthpiece is a repro, and the cord is new. Inside, the three bar magneto is unmarked and rings at the turn of the crank.. The switch hook and the ringer are both correct and unmarked. There are no batteries in the box. |

Item #859 is an oak Williams Abbott doublebox in good condition; the finish is poor. There is one patched hole in the front door by the lock. There are five patched holes in the backboard under the battery box (two below the battery shelf, two below and further out than the screws, one at the top left under the box). The front panel of the battery box has been nailed on the top and on the right side. The top box has the correct arrestor installed; the bells are nickel. The receiver is old and unmarked. The transmitter is marked and correct for the phone; the arm is cast iron with the coil in the base. The mouthpiece is a repro, and the cord is old. Inside, the five bar magneto rings at the turn of the crank. Both the switch hook and the ringer are unmarked and correct for the phone. There are no batteries in the box. |

2915 is an oak Williams Doublebox telephone; the wood is in fair condition,
and the finish is in poor condition.
Please reference the following issues on the pictures provided:
• 1 divot on the lower left side of the top box backboard
• 1 patched hole on the left side of the backboard under the transmitter
arm
• 1 split on the lower edge of the topbox backboard
• 1 split down the entire length of battery box on a glue line
• See patched hole at the top center of the backboard
• See damage at the lock slot
Exterior: The box is correct, and it has a porcelain tag (with a chip on the
lower edge) marked "Williams". The bells are Brass.
Receiver & Transmitter: The receiver is marked "American Telegraph
& Telephone" on the cap, old, and correct for the phone. There is 1
crack 1+ inch long around the cap. The transmitter is marked
"Williams"; the transmitter arm is correct with external terminals.
The mouthpiece is old (see picture of chip), and the cord is new.
Interior: Inside, the 3 bar magneto is marked "Williams", and phone
will ring at the turn of the crank. Both the switch hook and the ringer are
unmarked, old, and correct for the phone. There are no batteries in the box. |
