Item 2967 is a Baird fiddleback style wood wall phone. It is made of quarter-sawed oak. The lower front of the left side panel has been repaired. It's minor; the condition of the wood and finish is fair. The pull knob on the door is new. A key is required to open the door to the battery compartment and it is with the phone. The lightening arrestor is correct. The bells are nickel but covered with years of patine accumulation. Has a marked Baird metal name tag. The receiver is old and unmarked. The transmitter is very small, very early, and unmarked. It is correct for the phone. Transmitter arm is oval cast iron. The mouthpiece is old. The receiver cord is new. We think the "C.E." stands for Central Electric-a company in St. Louis that made a lot of wood wall phones. The receiver is old and it is marked Kellogg. Item #923 was formerly listed on our site as a Leich; upon closer examination, it appears to have been manufactured by Central Electric. This item is a Central local battery fiddleback.  The oak and the finish are both in very good condition; there is a metal name tag on the front.  The backboard is old and correct.  The magneto is correct and is marked C.T.E.  Both the ringer and switch hook are correct for the phone.  The receiver is a marked Kellogg.  The transmitter is marked Leich.  Both the mouthpiece and the cord are old.

Item 1055 is a Central fiddleback style wood wall phone. It is made of quarter-sawed oak. The overall condition of the wood is good. The finish is fair to poor. The shelf has been reglue at the joint, and the battery compartment door has been reglued at the joint It has an ujnusual paper stamp inside the ringer compartment. It says "I.I.T.A. equipment license stamp 1 cent March 1907." Both the shelf and the battery compartment door have beemn reglued at their joints. The phone has a central metal tag. The lightening arrestor is correct. The bells are nickel and very dirty. The receiver is old and unmarked. The transmitter is marked Central, which is correct for the phone. The mouthpiece is old. Central Fiddleback.  This oak phone is in poor condition and the finish is poor.  See the stain on the backboard near the arrestor.  There is one 2 inch split at the upper left edge of the backboard along a glue seam.  The shelf is splitting along a glue line. One-half inch of the backboard below the waist is missing on the right side (ie it fell off at a glue joint).  There is a metal name tag just above the shelf.  There is a “stamp” on the back wall of the battery box “L.I.T.A.” Equpiment Lisence stamp (1cent) that is dated 1907. The magneto rings and is marked CT&E (Central Telephone and Electric Co).  The receiver is old and is marked Kellogg.  The transmitter is unmarked and has a beveled edge.  The mouthpiece is repro.

This oak Dean Electric Fiddle back is in very good condition and the finish is very good. There is a metal name tab on the backboard above the transmitter. The magneto is marked Dean and rings at the turn of the crank. The receiver is a reproduction Dean receiver made of very heavy brass. The transmitter has a marked Dean cup and the mouthpiece is old. The ringer is correct for the phone. The latching "grommet" is missing from the battery box latch hole (see pix). The shelf has been replaced by a "home made" plywood shelf sometime in the past; see the crack in this shelf (pix). See pix of the two dents on the front panel of the battery box. Ericson Fiddleback is made of black metal.  The backboard is correct for the phone. The receiver is correct and marked Ericsson of Buffalo NY; the wooden sleeve on handset is split.  The magneto, ringer, and the battery box are all correct for the phone.  The magneto rings at the turn of the crank.  It has a Western Electric cord.  There are no nametags on the phone.

Ericsson British foreign Fiddleback  is in good condition.  The side hanging, European style handset is unmarked.   The phone has a nice decal on the metal battery cover, and inside, there is a paper schematic.   The 4 bar magneto is unmarked and rings at the turn of the crank.  The braided cord is old, and both the switch hook and the ringer are correct for the phone.   There are no batteries in the box.  We believe that one of the transmitter parts is missing (see pix).  In this model, the handset hangs on side of the phone.

Ericsson metal fiddleback (with receiver on the side) is marked Electrical Engineering Minneapolis, MN.  The backboard, receiver, transmitter, magneto, and ringer are all correct for the phone.  The cord is old.  There is a schematic in the box that is dated 12/20/1911; the Ericsson “guarantee” paper tag is also in the box.  The magneto rings at the turn of the crank.

Item 2880 is an Ericsson fiddleback type metal wall phone. It has been repainted. The condition is good. The lightening arrestor is correct. It is covered by round nickel gong. The bells are nickel. The handset is European style and is in very good condtion. It has a PTT lever. PTT stands for "Push to talk". There is a paper guarantee tag inside the phone. There is also a wiring diagram dated 9-17-12 inside the phone. The phone has a 5-bar mag. It rings when cranked and the handset is in the "Hung Up" mode. The switch hook and the ringer are correct.

Item 2929 is an Ericsson fiddleback style metal painted black wall phone. The paint is in good condition. It has an Eriksson decal in the vicinity of the bells that is in excellent condition. There is a metal identification tag on the backboard that reads "United States Hunnings Telephone Company, Akron, Ohio". The lightening arrestor is correct. The bells are nickel. Western Electric Fiddleback is in good condition and the finish is good.  There is 1 hole in the center top of the backboard; there is one whole ˝ inch in diameter in the center of the backboard of the magneto compartment.  The shelf is split its entire width. About 1 inch of the overhanging shelf has been broken off and is missing. The shelf itself has cracked and been reglued sometime in the past (probably by an amateur). The backboard has a seam that has been reglued sometime in the past. The battery door's bottom rail has been reglued sometime in the past There is a wiring diagram in the box dated 1891.  the receiver is an old Western Electric, however not a “pony” receiver.  Part of the receiver looks like it has been painted black sometime in the past.  The transmitter is marked on the cap “Property of American Bell.”  The faceplate is unmarked and imprinted with the 7 digits “3186389.”  The mouthpiece is a repro.  The magneto, ringer and switchhook are all correct for the phone. The 5 bar magneto is unmarked (dated 1894) and rings at the turn of the crank.  There are no batteries in the box.
