Jydsk walnut and metal Fiddleback is in very good condition. The inside appears to be complete and correct. The handset is of European styling and is unmarked. The mouthpiece is a repro and the cord is old. The magneto rings at the turn of the crank.. Both the switch hook and ringer are correct. See the 1 large bell, the button on desk, and the outside receiver terminals. This Ericsson (foreign) black desk is imprinted on the base "Ericsson", and has a tag on the base stating "made in Holland." "PTT" is imprinted in the cradle area, as a trademark would be displayed. There is a number card holder on the front of the phone. The pushbutton at right center near the cradle ear is broken off. The dial does not operate smoothly. See the interesting circular decal on right side. There is a paper tag on the base dated 1961. (Danish) cradlephone with dial "Telegrafverkt". This black
metal phone is in overall good condition; note the "lightening
decal" on the front of the box. Notice that the fingerwheel digits
are reversed from the U.S. style of numbering. See pix of the cord to
view damaged areas. This phone was apparently put into service in
Pennsylvania as stated by the dial. This is a Special made model for
Oslo which is the capital city of Norway, it was part of Denmark
until 1814, then given to Sweeden as a war booty (???). Sweeden - Norway
were a union until 1905. From 1905 Norway broke out, and
declaird their independence. (This reverce dial will only give you
the right number in Oslo and New zealand) |
