0732 Kellogg (Sold)

Item 0732 is an Oak Kellogg Compact Wall (Model 21093) antique telephone in good condition; the phone’s finish is in fair condition. 

Exterior: The box is correct, and it has a faded decal in poor condition marked "Kellogg". The bells are Black. 

Receiver & Transmitter: The handset is marked "Kellogg". The cord is old. 

Interior: Inside, there is a 3 bar magneto, and phone will ring at the turn of the crank. There is also a wiring diagram in the box. Both the switch hook and the ringer are unmarked, old and correct for the phone.

0751 Kellogg

See our pix of item #751.  Item #751 is an oak Kellogg compact wall phone in very good condition; the finish is good.  Sometime in the past, a Kellogg ringer box was converted to a compact handset wall phone as in this example.  The handset is a Western Electric E-1, and the switch hook is a Kellogg.  The locomotive magneto is a Stromberg Carlson.  The bells are black.  Inside, the 5 bar magneto is marked and rings at the turn of the crank.  There is a wiring diagram in the box.

See our pix of item #752.  Item #752 is an oak Kellogg compact wall phone with a handset.; the phone is in very good condition and the finish is fair.  The bells are brass, and the handset is marked Western Electric “FIW.”  The cord is old.  Inside, the 5 bar magneto is marked and rings at the turn of the crank; there is a wiring diagram in the bax.  Both the switch hook and ringer are unmarked and correct.  There are no batteries in the box.

#1123 is an oak Kellogg Switchboard and Supply Co. local battery black desk phone with ringerbox. Bhe black desk phone with handset is in good condition; the handset is marked Kellogg Switchboard and Supply Co. on the cap. The ringerbox is in very good condition; the finish is good. The ringerbox is marked with a decal. Inside the box, the 5 bar mag is unmarked and rings at the turn of the crank. The cord is marked with a Kellogg tag.

Item 2905 is a Western Electric oak compact wall phone, model D28064. The overall condition of the wood is good: the finish is poor.

Please reference the following issues on the pictures provided:

* see the left lower corner where the wood has a "chewed" appearance
* the set has a push to talk button and a stationary hook for the headset, but no switch.
* Ordinarily Western Electric uses a D model # for the developmental or prototype equipment
* the set has an older Runzel cord and a 716 headband receiver

Exterior: the bells are brass.

Receiver & Transmitter: The marked transmitter is old and correct for the phone; the transmitter arm is unmarked and is the butterfly type. The mouthpiece is old; see pix of the chip.

2906 Western Electric   (Sold)

Item 2906 is a Western Electric oak three piece compact wall phone. The 
overall condition of the wood is good: the finish is fair.

Please reference the following issues on the pictures provided:

* 1 split the entire length of the ringerbox backboard

This phone was probably for RailRoad use. It consists of a 293AL wall set, 
a D17668 magneto box, and a 3 cell metal battery can. The battery can is 
marked. The phone has "Push to talk, release to listen" stamped on the 
front of the door

Ringerbox exterior: The ringerbox has brass bells; the unmarked receiver has 
an old shell and a newer cap. The headset is marked. The transmitter is 
old and marked; the transmitter arm is unmarked and old. Both the 
mouthpiece and the cord are new.

Ringerbox Interior: Inside, the 4 bar magneto is unmarked and rings at the 
turn of the crank. Both the switch hook and the ringer are old, unmarked, 
and correct for the phone.

Item 3539 is a Stromberg Carlson compact metal non-dial phone. The phone has a push to talk handset. #294003-066 5-71 is stamped on the bottom of the case. The handset is Bakelite and marked. Unknown manufacturer compact wall phone ("jobber phone") (circa 1950) is a metal wall phone; it has wrinkle finish paint (see pix). This self contained metal wall set has a magneto that rings OK; it also uses 2 big dry cell batteries. The phone rings when hooked up to live batteries.

Item 3559 is a Western Electric metal compact wall phone set. 

Please reference the following issues on the pictures provided:

* This is model 333; it is a common battery style, therefore there is no magneto at the telephone end. 
* All parts inside are correct

Receiver & Transmitter: The receiver has a shell marked Leich, with a newer cap. The transmitter is marked Western Electric. The mouthpiece is a reproduction, and the cord is old.

3572 Western Electric   (Sold)

3572 is a Western Electric #5 portable phone in a wooden case. This unit appears to be made of mahogany. The wood is in good condition, and the finish is fair. There is a Westeren Electric decal on the box which is in poo4 donei5ion. This phone has a "push -to-talk" chrome handset (see pix of the button on the side of the handset). See pix of the chip in the earpiece. The phone has a 5 bar marked Western Electric magneto; the decal is in good condition. The magneto sends current out on to the line. It has been tested by connecting a ringer to the two terminals on the top of the box and found to work perfectly. It has stenceiling on the back of the box that says "For use on motor car. Joplin Division." We suspect that this set was used by the railroad; it has a shoulder strap for carrying. The unit is in overall good condition and appears to be complete. There are two dry cell batteries still in the box from when this portable phone was last in service.

Item 3581 is a Western Electric oak compact wall phone antique telephone. The overall condition of the wood is good: the finish is poor.

Please reference the following issues on the pictures provided:
* There are 4 tack holes on the door above the transmitter that used to hold an instruction card
* This is a converted Western Electric 124 A to a compact wall phone, using Kellogg parts. 
* The box and ringer are Western Electric.
* The coil, condenser, transmitter, switch hook and receiver are Kellogg.
* some wiring is missing
* the door latch does not work due to missing wood on the box
* The box has patent info stamped on the side of the box and Western Electric stamped on the door

Receiver & Transmitter: The receiver is unmarked. The transmitter is marked Kellog and the transmitter arm is a reproduction. The mouthpiece is old, and the cord is new. 

Interior: Inside, the switch hook and the ringer are old and unmarked.
